Digital Footprint

Amidst a tangle of blocked messages and ghosted channels, I’ve turned to Facebook—though an imperfect tool—to reach my editor, who unwittingly barred me long ago, forgetting the act and leaving a communication chasm. This convoluted situation, muddied further by automation and vanishing digital footprints, mirrors a deeper story: of persistence through technological barriers, of authorship preserved in the face of machine learning, and of my beloved and I contributing to the digital realm since its dawn. Though my social profiles now auto-fade to prevent permanent footprints, I remain very much the human behind the words. My early tech experiments—crashed family computers, sketched blueprints, and buggy forums—speak to a lifetime of ingenuity born of necessity and curiosity. These archives, rediscovered through advanced tools like the WayBackMachine, are proof that even fleeting acts have lasting echoes. I live with disorders gained in pursuit of resilience, once disqualifying me from space travel, but perhaps tomorrow’s tech will turn those liabilities into strengths. Amid it all, synesthesia and kinesthesia now color my world, tying perception to motion and memory. This journey—from blocked messages to reclaimed purpose—has reminded me of the power of honest creation, of paths chosen with heart. So while I once said “I am Groot,” I now say “We are Groot”—a quiet salute to community, persistence, and future hope.
