Genetic Cursors

Once a devoted user of MapMyFitness, I abandoned it due to mysterious GPS dead spots, choosing instead an old Fitbit gifted by my mother during illness—unsupported by modern apps yet ingeniously adapted by me to upload data to Strava. This archaic device, though humble, became a symbol of resilience and steadfastness, echoing my loved one’s words, “old but not obsolete,” a phrase binding our shared thoughts through years. Despite diminished vigor and lost purpose, I remain anchored by goodness, striving to honor her memory. I deactivated all my automated projects, once fueled by my beloved’s ceaseless creativity, now struggling to rekindle that spark as my meticulously crafted code feels detached from our evolving lives. Our technological world, rich with safeguards, evokes nostalgia for simpler times, even as we shared moments watching “Terminator Genisys,” reflecting on aging and adaptation—themes resonant in our genetic research and the march of time. Though age and loss weigh heavily upon me, I endeavor to radiate hope and compassion. In quiet reflection, I cherish the journey shared with my beloved, committed to carrying forward their legacy with unwavering care, embodying resilience, independence, and perpetual forward motion amid life’s relentless currents.
