Supra Soldier

I had to say something I never thought I would, especially with such calmness: "I got run over by a car," a realization that I could have been in far worse circumstances. Sitting here with a polycarbonate cast, my faith in the medical team is renewed after their whole day's dedication. I joked to a Captain about being part metal and plastic now, augmented yet the same guy in some ways. Documenting this publically on January 2nd at 1900, I emphasize my okay-ness, attributing my survival to slipping on black ice, a 42 lbs ruck, and a random pothole. The car, perhaps hindered by low visibility due to snowfall, drove on, leaving me to share this uncommon story amidst a common occurrence. Despite distance or regulations, there are those who follow my public persona, a shift from my private nature in career and life. Yet, I've found honesty and motivation in truth, speaking unfiltered after tapering off medication. The support I received, be it from the medical team or acts of kindness from strangers like Apple and Google, humbles me. Lessons in separating work from leisure, adapting to advice, and maximizing effort for survival underline this ever-expanding life repertoire. It's a challenge for all to care for oneself and others with the swiftness of thought. Semper Supra. Guardian out.
