About the Stream

In the year 2009, as I embarked upon a new career, my streaming channel emerged as a lifeline to maintain bonds with my family. Yet, my history with streaming traced further back, to the nascent days of 2007, when Twitch bore the humble moniker of Justin.tv, a creation of Justin Kan for social streamers to broadcast their lives. In those early days, no sanctuary existed solely for gamers, compelling us to devise ingenious methods to share our digital adventures.

Fate intervened when Blackmagic Design sought my counsel, presenting their streaming hardware, the Blackmagic Intensity Pro. With enthusiasm, I tested their device, offering critical feedback, and soon penned guides on utilizing Adobe’s proprietary Flash Media Live Encoder—then known as FME—whose command-line intricacies first drew me into the realm of programming. My guides proved invaluable to high-volume streamers, enabling them to showcase their gameplay in what was then groundbreaking quality: 720p.

A member of the Game On Community and its esteemed streaming group, my channel became a proving ground for Twitch’s experimental features. From Justin.tv to Gaming.jtv, and finally Twitch.tv, the platform evolved, as did I. My channel garnered accolades—a producer’s badge from Justin.tv, a feature page on Gaming.tv—though I never attained Partnered status, my streaming interspersed with training for my career. Yet, my channel retains rare features, testifying to its storied past.
